Macabre…ish Cults, Classics & Horrors Podcast: Filmmaker Patrick Johnson

Episode 1

Carlos, Chris and I had the great pleasure of talking to Patrick Johnson, the director of 47 Hours To Live, She’s Crushed (Crushed) and Amber Heard’s first film SideFX. This was such a good conversation and he starts from the beginning, the winding road to filmmaking.

From an offer to make 50 bucks from a man in a van to being inspired to distribute by a guy known as Half Head Fred. Taking films to festivals and how that went. Directors who lost their mind, entire crew walk out during projects, crazy producer and over ambitious projects with no budget.

Plus what happened when Patrick finally got a good budget to make a feature film and the lessons he learned about culture and industry relationships. And why, for him, intent matters and why he’d rather offend you with his movies than get no response at all.
