Macabre...ish Horror Review: Comedown

Comedown, 2012/ 90 min.

Some inner city kids breaks into an old dilapidated tenement building to set up an antenna for 50 quid and drugs, for a pirate radio operator. And it needs to be done by 10 pm for a midnight broadcast. And the party begins for the kids. But unbeknownst to them, they are not the only ones in the building.

And they are missing random puddles and smears of blood and teeth all around the building. They are also not noticing the person watching them. After one of the girls is kidnapped, the rest sober up quickly once they realize something’s wrong. They are not dealing with a local gang but they are being bated by a madman.

When they run for the lift, they find themselves locked in and the only thing to do is go back and back there is torture, then death. All of their attempts at escape are thwarted, it would seem this lunatic has thought of everything.

This turned out to be a solid British slasher! It is bloody, gory and graphic. They show a lot and the physical effects are nice. Nice small cast....Geoff Bell, Adam Deacon, Jacob Anderson, Sophie Stuckey, Jessica Barden and Calum McNab. Kind of a brutal watch. The victims fight like hell and the black people didn’t die first. Aside from a bad falling effect, I enjoyed it!
