Macabre...ish Horror Review: Land Mine Goes Click
Land Mine Goes Click, 2015/ 1 hr 44
Three backpackers (Daniel (Dean Geyer), Alicia (Spencer Locke) and Chris (Sterling Knight)) traveling and camping in Georgia (country not state). Chris steps on a land mine while the 3 of them pose for a pic. A supposed friend of Daniel’s orchestrates this situation. He then volunteers to go get help.
Meanwhile, Chris confesses a secret to Daniel that will ruin his relationship with Alicia. And Daniel changes from in love fiance to scorned enemy of them both. It would seem this might have been a set up.
And so Daniel puts on his pack and goes. And then a local arrives, Ilya (Kote Tolordava) and he is immediately aggressive and it only gets worse for Alicia. And he wants all the details of how Chris came to be on a landmine, in return for helping them.
He does help but he also wants to play a game, where everyone loses but him and Chris can’t do a thing to stop it. It’s terrible and Alicia may never recover. And Ilya returns to his life as if he isn’t a horrible human being.
Chris has something in mind for Ilya, this is not over.
This is a psychological thriller and a heavy revenge movie. Lots of revenge! It is graphic and has adult scenes. It gets hard to watch.
Trigger warning: Sexual assault, abuse, humiliation
