Macabre...ish Horror Review: Return to Horror High

Return to Horror High, 1987/ 95 min.

After the murders at Crippen High in 1982 and the murderer was never caught, a sleazy producer from Cosmic Pictures, returns to make a biography about the massacre called Horror High.

During the making of the movie, cast and crew begin disappearing and turning up dead. The entire movie is the struggle of the documentary production punctuated by deaths and an investigation at the same time. This movie could’ve been really good but it was like they had too many ideas and used them all.

There were some excellent moments and effects plus some very terrible ones.

This movie has a weird mix of very good and uniquely terrible acting.

I couldn’t tell if it was supposed to be purposeful or not.
🤔

There are some recognizable and surprising actors in this movie. Plenty of gratuitous nudity and lots of blood and gore but not as graphic as you might expect. Plus plenty of crass, adult language and scenes.

I also found the music distracting and along with the acting, dream sequences and all the fairly convoluted plots etc. made the movie somewhat hard to follow. I have to say I was intrigued because I had no idea where this movie was going and entertained because it was so bad! There’s alot going on here. If you are a fan of 80s terribleness, this is a win!

See I find it very hard to find this character scary but I was curious.
