Macabre...ish Horror Review: Santa Clarita Diet

Santa Clarita Diet, 2017-present

Real estate agents and spouses, Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila (Drew Barrymore) Hammond, lead a very normal life in Santa Clarita, CA, with the exception of one thing. Sheila is a zombie. Since she’s no longer alive, her primal instincts ramp up, not only does she have an appetite for people but an increase in sexual appetite.

After killing and eating a neighbor, Sheila, tries to eating flesh from a corpse but no, she needs the freshly dead. So they agree to kill so she can eat.

And despite that, they must still juggle their normal suburban life and family. All the while killing to feed Sheila and keep her from decaying. The plan is to find bad people to kill. Meanwhile, Joel researches her condition and discover’s it could be metaphysical in nature. This horror comedy is gory, bloody and graphic but the family is charming and you never know what’s coming next. This show is a nice watch.
