Macabre...ish Horror Review: Shaun of the Dead
Shaun of the Dead, 2004/ 99 min
Directionless Shaun and his gamer buddy, Ed’s life is turned upside down, when in the midst of a whole lot of nothing going on, the zombie outbreak happens!
Just in time for Shaun to disappoint his girlfriend once again and get dumped.
After valiantly fighting off a zombie with a stack of vinyls and kitchen utensils, they decide to ditch the house and hide out at their favorite haunt, the Winchester and discover their long suffering roommate is still in the shower and also a zombie!
But first, they need to rescue a few people, Shaun’s ex-girlfriend and roommates and his parents!
This movie is a good mix of slacker comedy and zombies. If you’re a fan of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, you’ll likely like this movie. This is a fun zombie flick. I wouldn’t say it’s scary but it has some good gory moments. I’m a fan of English zombie horror, what can I say.
And it’s available here, on itunes. Enjoy!!
