Macabre...ish Horror Review: Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Terminator 2: Judgement Day, 1991/ 137 min.
John Connor (Edward Furlong) is in a foster home and Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), a mental hospital, after trying to bomb a computer company. Before this she’s been training John for his future as a resistance leader to stop the domino effect of a nuclear holocaust set happen in the future after AI takes over the US Nuclear Missiles.
But in 2030, Skynet sends a new Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to kill John and this time they send an upgrade! The T-1000 (Robert Patrick) is a liquid metal prototype and it can take the shape and appearance of anything it touches and transforms at will.
Meanwhile, future John (Michael Biehn) sends back a reprogrammed Model 101 to protect his younger self. The reprogrammed Terminator and the T-1000 clash at the mall, until the former escapes with John on a motorcycle to find Sarah before the T-1000 does. They find her just as she’s escaping the hospital and when she learns that Miles Dyson (John Morton) an engineer, is the one that will be the cause of the apocalypse, she goes looking for him.
She can’t kill him. Instead she explains what his future work will cause so the act to stop it by breaking into Skynet and destroying his work. All while the T-1000 is in hot pursuit. Finally the battle ends in The Steel Mill.
I love The Terminator and the near nonstop destruction, chaos and death. Interesting kills, action, all star cast and great fight scenes.
