Macabre…ish Review: Feminine Rage List
On social media I made and kept adding to a list of female or feminine rage movies. Some horror, others not. I have decided to memorialize them here so that it is easier to keep track of and add to.
- American Mary - Mary quits medical school after being raped at a colleagues party and takes her part time gig, extreme body modification, full time. The past might be behind her but is it?
- Assassination Nation - A small town is turned upside down when a hacker anonymously releases everyone’s private messages and secrets. Four girls, in particular, end up in a fight for their lives against the entire town.
- Big Driver - A woman, tricked into a web that includes a family secret, small town horror and a deadly trap. Not only does she survive the worst night of her life, a terrible family, doesn’t.
- Blink Twice - A waitress finds herself invited to a billionaires island for a party with his friends and other women. But when the women start to lose time and have strange, horrifying dreams. The pieces start coming together and this time the party ends very differently than the last.
- The Burning Bed - Based on the true story of a battered wife who cannot escape her ex-husband, she’s on her own and she decides to end his reign of terror, once and for all.
- The Clinic - Abducted pregnant women wake up in an abandoned meat processing plant, no longer pregnant. Their infants are all locked in a cage and numbered, the numbers coincide with the colored and numbered tags sewn inside each woman’s abdomen. And there’s only one way to find out which infant belongs to whom.
- Curve - A deranged hitchhiker plays a deadly game with Mallory after she crashes her truck to save herself from him. If she doesn’t die first, she will have to kill him to survive. And it turns out, she’s not the only one embroiled in his game.
- Daddy’s Girl - A young woman, who is missing, has replaced her departed mother in the void she left behind for her mother’s husband. Assuming all of the duties. Including in the bedroom and lure for the girls that he wants to capture for his lair. Every possible way out is the hard way, she just needs to pick one.
- Double Jeopardy - A woman goes to prison for the murder of her husband, even though his body was never found. And then one day it was and she’d served her time. Unfortunately for him, he is very much still alive.
- Dolores Claiborne - Dolores found out her long time husband has been sexually abusing their daughter. Now that she knows, she need to do something about it.
